Hi all, this is my first post here, and I'm new to the site, so pardon me if this is in the wrong forum.
Anyway, here's my question:
I'm using a DVX100B (and AVID) and feel like I'm getting a good image through the camara's LCD screen. However, after I import the image with AVID, it looks like it has lost some quality- it looks noisy and grainy and almost as though the contrast has been cranked up. I'm viewing it on an only slightly larger scale in the AVID window, but not enough for me to think that's the cause of my problem.
My question is this. Could it be due to any of the following issues:
1) I'm using a PC laptop - i figured this should just affect rendering and editing speed, but what do i know
2) I'm importing via 1394 firewire
3) I have all sorts of video codecs installed somewhere on my computer: k-lite mega codec pack (though I doubt it's this)
4) maybe the graphics card on my computer
5) this is just what happens after you capture
6) whatever else you can think of
If anyone can help, thanks a ton. I'm new to a lot of this so, I really appreciate whatever help you can give. This site has already been an amazing resource for me so far, so thanks.
