If you select "other camera" please do tell! ie. BMC, RED, or perhaps the new D16 with that pistol grip tickles your fancy?

I chose other. I moved to the BMCC. It had me at built in ProRes HQ and of course raw. I miss the built in NDs and the amazing low light, but other than that I'm pretty happy with the BMCC.

I would have checked "drug money" but didn't see it listed?

F3 is a great camera, always will be a misunderstood camera by most and for good reason, sony really messed up the form factor- but with that said, its still the best image you can buy for the price IMO- especially on the used market. Id almost consider buying one used over an f5 because they are so cheap and can capture amazing images.

Well we had that poll too some time ago..

EDIT: actually maybe it was a thread on "what it would take for you to move to 4k" - maybe I'm confused.

Waiting for F7, that will come next year... Until then, putting some "steroids" in this old lady...

For what's invested on your entire camera though (with PIX, DP4 EVF, armour, solid camera hardware) you've easily out-spent more than a base F5 with OLED VF (without AXS-R5) by $4000 and not getting the benefit of an OLED HD EVF, reduced camera size/weight, no ext. cables/power management, not to mention internal 8-bit and 10-bit HD and 2k formats.

Yeah, Dennis: I also payed $7000 for my first PC. How many MacPros I could buy today for that?
I also got my F3 in March of 2011, so camera has been earning more than 2 years strait...
no hanging Cables/power management on my camera. All nice and neat...

My clients don't need 4K, or anything else that F5 can offer over F3. F5 is not worth an upgrade over what I use now, and F55 is over my budget, period. To buy a new camera every 2 years, it's just too much for my small operation. My business model is not to rent my gear, so for that reason hardware investemnt has to be profitable only by my use of it.

All ad ons I accumulated over last 2 years (not in one purchase) are used for various set ups and cameras. Except 3ality armor, that I payed Less Than 1/2 price. My reasoning for that modification was to update and improve F3, so I can use it with better efficiency in next few years (rather then dumping it for cheap like most of the recent sellers). Just like a used car, that needs some TLC...

All Solid camera parts will stay in my kit way after F3 is gone, DP4 is very capable monitor as well. It will also stay in my bag for long. PIX240 just became 444 recorder last month. Can't complain about that either. It is also VERY CAPABLE digital sound recorder.

We all run by our bottom line, and as much as I would love to have a "new toy" every season sometimes a simple makeover can make things fun as well...
