POLARIZER & HMC40 Auto ND

Just wondering if adapting a polarizer to the camera, having its ND filter being automatic, will this cause any issues?
I've been using a 43mm hoya one and a 72 B+W, which obviously is way better and looks really good, but the hoya just seems
to suck, (it is not the cheap model) I was wondering why? Does the Auto ND have anything to do with it?

Thanks!

Can you be more specific than "just seems to suck?" What does it do to the picture that you don't like?

I have a 43mm B+W polarizer for my HMC80, and I notice that there is some color shift and a tendency to lift the black level slightly when I use it. I need to compensate for these by white balancing whenever I add or delete the filter, and changing the master pedestal setting a little either in the camera or in post. I don't think this has anything to do with the built-in auto-ND feature, however.

+1 to all this. If you have any issues with color shift due to the PB, a .9 ND can be had for not to much. Fortunately 43mm filters, even B&W, aren't bank breakers.
