A green laser would kill your camera
one of the guys where I bought mine posted on a local forum here a message about that, I asked him and he said a DJs green laser at a weeding fried a camera.
I would avoid shooting any lasers pointing directly at me
Laser damage in CCD imagers is a thermal effect. So, for a given laser energy, infrared is most dangerous, then red , green...blue. The energy level, the time and the beam diameter on the imager is important. Green Disco lasers are often powerfull and should be mounted for never hitting human eyes. Class B (5mW) pointers do not harm unless you keep them pointed on exactly (within 10 micrometer) the same pixels on the CCD for several seconds. If you need to video lasers, allways keep the cam's shutter on 1/60(1/50) and use ND or specific laser filters. The iris is only effective in case of large beamwidths (>10mm). As long as you don't see vertical streaking you are well below the limits of dammage.
I have already shooted laser in some clubs without problem, but but I will not put the DVX at the output of the laser tube. Here is some examples of a 4 watts laser:
Beautifull pics, but (fortunately) non of these laserbeams where pointed into the lens. If pointed into the lens only the background, vertical streaking and ghost images are being seen.
