PN or not?

Is there an instance where it's not a good idea to shoot in either 720/24PN or 720/30PN? I have an interview to shoot and I prefer to stretch the drive space out. It'll be a talking head, probably for web delivery, but I'm not sure.

The only valid reasons to shoot other-than-pN usually revolve around firewire output. pN mode disables the firewire port. So if you are planning on streaming your footage out to another device, don't use pN mode. Otherwise, if you're recording to p2 cards, there's really not a whole lot of incentive to use anything other than pN mode.

Okay, here's another time -- if you're shooting variable frame rate stuff, and you need the audio to be recorded simultaneously. pN won't do that, but normal 720p mode will.

I will be recording to P2 cards, then transferring the footage to a DVD or flashcard to ship it out. I think PN mode will be great for this.
Thanks!

edit- actually, I'll transfer the footage to my hard drive so I can have a back-up file, using the USB port. Then I'll transfer it to a flashcard, etc. for shipping.

OK, if I record in Native to a P2 card, can I later export the video thru a Firewire port?

Depends on what you mean by "export the video thru a Firewire port". If you mean streaming the video as live video to a tape deck or to an external recorder, the answer is no. But if you mean using your camera to export the footage to an external hard disk, or connecting the camera through firewire to act as a card reader where you can now copy the contents of the cards onto your hard drive, then the answer would be yes.
