The free firmware v1.1 is now available and required to be installed before you can install the optional S-LOG RGB firmware. As mentioned before ... besides some internal 'tweaks' the most interesting 'upgrades' from this firmware is simultaneous signal output on SDI and HDMI and the Slow and Quick rotary dial that now enables you to go through the menu settings ...
 
I cant find it anywhere... i have a feeling its not out yet... confirmation please?
 
they simply just announced that to get the s log upgrade you need the 1.1 firmware, but they never actually said 1.1 was out.

what a tease!
 
Well it looked like Nigel got in it Canada. How is only a select few (comp) getting it. No offense Nigel.

Sick of all this teasing too.Wish they would just set a date release it.

Its Vistek's demo camera, and no comp when it comes out. It's still a beta and there's still more they have to add to it. I've been told in the next couple of months and not even sure if that's accurate.
 
That's what I meant (X company's camera) Figured it was a rental.
Wow, I guess will be waiting some more. Time to tweak and play with Picture Profiles.

new update on their twitter. says 1.1 should be avail beginning of June. (hopefully) i wouldn't expect s log till end of summer though.
 
The 'upgrade' firmware 1.1 for existing F3 cameras will be available beginning of June. The new firmware also has some metadata functionality same as PMW-F350 V1.3 (but not via WiFi).
F3 shipments were delayed because of this firmware update. And yes, you need the V1.1 before you will be able to purchase the S-Log unlock.
 
I was at a demo in Pittsburgh this past Tuesday and was talking to a sony tech-rep and he said it will be available this summer sometime and it will cost about $3500. As hard as this is to imagine, I get a feeling that Sony was unprepared for the reaction to the F3. They had no info on a street date or tech specs of the short pl zooms.
 
Hmmm.... looks like you can't upgrade with just the Sony SD SxS adaptor. You need a ridgy-didge SxS card. Anyone manage to upgrade with the SD adaptor? All I get is a "no file found" message on the F3 upgrade menu.
