I'm Davey from the Netherlands. I have purchased a used 350K which I'm now shooting with since thursday. It's my first XDCAM camera, and I love it! However, I'm having some issues with the kit lens and I'm hoping someone may recognize these issues and advise me on what to do.
I should first mention there is some play in the zoom ring, with the servo switched on. I'm guessing that is normal, but of course you shouldn't turn the zoom ring with the zoom servo switched on.
Sometimes when I've a) just powered on the camera, b) just switched the zoom servo from off to on, c) after accidentally turning the zoom ring a bit with the servo on, or d) randomly, the image goes out of focus at the start of a zoom for about 2 frames. You can see it here.
As you can imagine, this is really disturbing. In the footage above it happened while I was shooting garbage, but I would rather not deal with the problem when I have to nail a shot first try. I have adjusted the backfocus as per instructions and I'm not experiencing backfocus issues as normally described. But may be it is a backfocus issue and I have failed to adjust it properly; I don't recognize the issue...
I have a warranty from the company I bought it from so I can return it (I hope the lens only) or file a warranty claim if I need to, which is very helpful.
