Plz recommend a cheap media player that play all the camera formats...

I'm looking for an affordable media player without screen but with HDMI out and card reader or usb to support card reader. It must play back smoothly all the camera formats for video, eg GH2 5D2 etc and the SDHC / Flash card based video camera formats.

The Patriot Box Office can play almost anything I throw at it. I have one... I'll test AVCHD when I get home.

I have a Western Digital Box (WDTV) that is pretty good, sometimes playback gets choppy but its never constant across formats etc

My WDTV's (Live and Hub) play back MOV's from my 7D & T3i, m2t's from my hacked GH1, and unhacked GH2. The only stuttering I get is when I try to play back something across the network, and my NAS or network can't keep up. Local or directly connected media is fine.

Are these mains powered units?

Anybody have experience with Sumvision Micro2 which might run on battery power?

Yes, they are AC powered (tho you could probably rig up a battery pack for them).
