I wanted to share a cool sci-fi, VFX heavy film I was on the production team for called
Plurality.
We shot it for no money, with a couple friends over a year and a half.

It takes place in 2023 NYC, where the WTC1/Freedom Tower houses THE GRID, a city-wide system that tracks all of your movements to reduce crime. The film confronts the issues of privacy and surveillance for the sake of safety.

I really hope you like it - and thanks in advance for watching!

Nice production value!

The theme was heavy handed. The iHolo was an eye-rolling cliche. This project clearly was to showcase effects and the story was built simply to support that fact. Wish people would put more thought into the story and let the effects support the story, not be the story.

The concept and the vision of the future have a lot of potential.

The specific story and characters, however, I think could be redone from scratch. It's a great take on 1984 in our world. But the story of the girls is really not the one to bring this story out, from what I saw. Maybe lose the time travel gimmick and go deeper into the technofascist world that seeks to control people in the present. And the struggle against it, perhaps with insiders working to take it down along with outsiders (much like 1984). Winston Smith was the man to bring that story out because he was an insider/outsider. His job was with the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history for the party. So he got to see more than the rest. He got to think more than the masses.

Great film and nice theme, very relevant these days with the publication of Facebook and how everything is now inter-connected, pros and cons of what this fast world connectivity and what the future holds, I like the characters, and the story is great, if this was a pitch short film to do the feature you have a great thing here, VFX? is awesome, very high quality. Sound design is on point, I love the under the bench skateboard thingy shot, Production design, well, it looks solid! A great mixture of visual candy entertainment and meaning, nice touch on the ending, makes you ask questions and as filmmakers that's what we do, ask them, not answer them. Congrats to you and your team!
