Hello guys,
I'm shooting a silent short soon; and I plan to send it to festivals around the world, taking advantage of the fact that it doesn't need words to tell the story (a prize-winner short french story btw)
BUT, there are two words that actually appear on the screen and are part of the plot.
So, I was thinking that people who speak various languages could send its respective translation, and I'll shoot each version, making it way cooler than adding subtitles later.
Here are the two words:
1-The protagonist's wife leaves him and a note that says:
*"goodbye forever"* or "I'm leaving you"
in the original french text it is: je te quitte
in portuguese it is: ate nunca mais
2-She writes on the mirror with lipstick:
*"idiot"* or *"Dick"* or *"Jerk"*
in the original french text it is: connard
in portuguese it is: troxa
Any and every language will be nice, I just have to change the letter and the writing on the mirror and do a take each. Will make a fun bonus segment in the dvd..
If you speak japanese or chinese, I'd love to have those in kanji style too, if you can write it in roman characters I'll get the kanji somewhere.
UPDATE: English, French, German, Thai, Finnish, 1 Japanese, Russian and Portuguese covered; any others? Spanish? Greek? Latin? Vulcan? Thanks for the feedback, you guys rock!!
THANKS A LOT,
thomas
