Hi guys i am trying to power my EVF, Fujinon broadcast lens, and AF100 of my external Battery. The EVF and lens work so far, but i am trying to find a cable to go from D-tap to the AF100 i have found one 'Switronix' cable but have read from reviews in B&H that the cable does not fit well in the cam and it will only work if you push down on the cable in the cam :Drogar-Shock(DBG):. Are there any other D-tap to af100 cables i may have missed ??? Thanks in advance.

PS: Here is the cable i have found so far, has anyone else used it ?? any experience ??

I've been using the switronix cable for a while. Pros outweigh the cons. The camera connection can work loose in transit, but has never failed me on a shoot. I do make a point of checking it as part of my setup though.Extra D-tap on the cable box is helpful.I use mine on the Vocas shoulder rig and there's plenty of cable length there. I probably should trim mine down. That said, if I found one with a better camera connection.... I'd buy it.

Hey tex thank for the reply. So when using this cable on a shoot it stays in place and doesn't feel loose ? never popped off on you ?

Anton Bauer also offers a cable for the camera, don't recall the model number but there is one available, they originally made it for the HMC150.

Marty, it's never come off on a shoot, but as Jan suggests, have a look around for a alternative first. I would prefer a reassuring "click" when I attach this cable, but that doesn't happen.

Cheers,

Tex

We make a DC step down converter - it is a little box you would plug the DC cable in that came with your camera, also available from Spec-Comm. The converter can be powered using several different cables, D-Tap is one of them. This solution is more modular than a "one piece cable"; it allows to use a OEM Panasonic cable adapter for a sure fit, and flexibility using a variety DC power sources.
More information is here

In the uk Hawk-Woods make one, it comes as standard a little short, but they are custom made so can be longer, fit very well

beware of the combination suggested above from SpecCom, there is no voltage converter, dtap can be over 15v if drawn from a battery directly

Andy, just to clarify, the "paddle" cable is the same that comes with the Panasonic AC adapter - it is just that - a cable with no regulation circuit. You would plug it in into our DC converter output - it steps down the voltage down to 7.4V. Together they do the trick.
