Please split screengrabs section in two

Bob, don't make me come over there, it's cold.

A

Finished films man...Movie time...

Barry. Cheers maybe someday, I can wait...

I agree it would be nice. I've posted anything I've done in the XL2 section because I though the other section was for DVX only stuff. But I know most here don't go into the XL2 section and I would love a wider range of opinion (of course maybe they won't go into the other screengrabs section either).

Good point Matt. What about:

Completed DVX movies: Finished films.
24P Screengrabs section: DVX, Upcoming HVX and HD100, Super16, 35. (No faux 24P)
General Screengrabs section: Non 24P stuff and everything else under the sun.

I know it's not one of your options, but to me the following is organized most logically:

--Non-DVX Screengrabs and Clips
--Non-DVX Finished Movies
--DVX Screengrabs and Clips
--DVX Finished Movies

All of the above under a "Movies, Clips and Grabs" Heading.

I really like the idea of being able to quickly locate Finished projects all in one area. Hours of entertainment all in one section!

I also think a DIY section would be totally awesome.

but dark...

Its not dark in the summer. The sun doesn't go down till about 12pm and it rises again at 4am. Thats why they call it the land of the midnight sun, we get nearly 24 hour daylight.

I put blankets on my windows so I can fall asleep. :D

While we are on the subject I would like to see a section on Color Correction. I have seen it make such a huge difference in some of the films here. I know its covered under another category but it deserves its own thread.

Hey, how bout spliting it into three sections. One for DVX, the other for all cameras, and finally one for VHS-C onwers like me. Comon' VHS-C cameras gets no lovin... :(

Thanks for the suggestion Disjecta!

Let's not get carried away with creating too many forums. The search function is great for pulling up specific content and we don't want forums where there are 2 posts/week. It's time for a new forum when one of the existing forums gets so much traffic that it makes it hard to find content or there's a confusing mix of content. Plan A allows for posting of in-process DVX films--here it is again

Plan A

Screengrabs/Clips forum--->Screengrabs and clips from ANY camera, completed short films from non-DVX cameras

DVXmovie forum----->completed DVX short films, announcements for DVX features

The biggest demand I get is for a place to see finished DVX films exclusively without having to wade through screen grabs of someone's backyard.

I'm going to start by implementing Plan A *plus* I'll make a strong push for posters to identify their camera in the thread title in the current Screen grabs/clips forum (originally Rich Lee's suggestion).

So ideally we'd have thread titles like:

DVX100: Screengrabs from music video

XL2: Rough cut of "Murder Rings Twice"

Z1U: Snowboarding clips

Let's see how this works out and we can always make course corrections if necessary.

Sounds good Barry. Once people make the adjustment of identifying their camera it should work out. Thanks for trying to make this work.

I vote B. I like to put up some work in the DVX section that is not done so I can get opinons from fellow dvxusers such as ways to change my CC alittle or change a setting on the camera its self.

Barry, thanks for trying to get all this ironed out. I think its awesome how important the community is to you and other mods. And I think we all appreciate the fact that you'll let us give you ideas on how to proceed.

Hey, whats this brown spot on my nose..........

Wow, I didnt see this thread, I just unloaded on the guy who posted the beautiful but wrongly placed film short about the woman getting hit by the jeep. This needs to stay pure as a forum for the camera we all know and love. This other stuff is valid and important but it should have its own place.

i vote for plan B.

But i like FrizzleFry's suggestion better:
--Non-DVX Screengrabs and Clips
--Non-DVX Finished Movies
--DVX Screengrabs and Clips
--DVX Finished Movies
