All,

I am severely mourning the loss of our DVX-only area. It's getting way too clogged with footage from other cameras. Don't get me wrong, I am really interested in what others have to offer from a non DVX standpoint, but I think the main reason this forum exists is for DVX users. It's fine with me if we want to create different sections for other things but at least let's keep the DVX stuff separate.

Anyone else feel this way or did I just wake up grumpy? :huh:
 
I really enjoy seeing shorts and stuff from other cameras, but I agree that they should be seperated. Not only would it be alot less confusing, but more people would be inclined to post their stuff and not feel like the odd man out.

yeah, people dont seem to be following the "List Camera used when Posting your clips please." either.
 
Yes, it's gonna happen. The Screengrabs/clips section will be for any camera and completed DVX films will go in the new DVXmovie forum. I'll have Jarred activate the new forum and I'll write up the announcements. I was also thinking about us adding a DIY forum--you like?
 
Yeah Barry S I like the idea of the DIY forum some times it is hard to find tips. Also I would like to see a different forum for dvx footage I like to see what other people are doing with my little camera not a vari cam that they rented. Don't get me wrong I love to see everyones work from film to HD but that should be in a different forum
 
Its been getting pretty bad recently. It seems like in the past week there have been quite a few non-DVX posts. Now I love the fact that more and more filmmakers have found this site and are using its great community spirit, but us DVX owners are starting to get a little oversaturated with other cameras. I still love to see what the DVX can do, and its what primarily holds my interest, if I have to search through 5 or 6 posts to get to it, its just annoying.
 
Two grabs sections sounds good. Its been nice seeing other cameras on, but I definitely wasn't sure what was and wasn't dvx. I like the idea of a DIY. I'm definitely building a towel dolly. :thumbsup:
 
Ok, before I post the announcements, what I was originally thinking was the DVXmovie forum would be for *completed* DVX films--no unfinished clips no grabs to wade through. But tell me which breakdown you prefer--

Plan A

Screengrabs/Clips forum--->Screengrabs and clips from any camera, completed short films from non-DVX cameras

DVXmovie forum----->completed DVX short films, announcements for DVX features


Plan B

Screengrabs/Clips forum--->Screengrabs, clips, and completed shorts from non-DVX cameras

DVXmovie forum----->Screengrabs, clips, and completed shorts from the DVX, announcements for DVX features
 
OKay, I definitely vote for plan B. I like to get feedback when I am working on something that is not finished. All I want is DVX and non-DVX stuff separated...is that so wrong?

Don't even get me started with a chat room, my wife would divorce me if I spent any more time on this frickin' forum. Know what I mean, Vern?
