I want to get a flat screen TV for my home, either LCD or plasma, about 40+". As long as I am doing this I would like to get something also useful for shooting and editing.
I would like to connect my HVX to it from time to time to check critical footage. Also, I edit with FCP on a laptop and would like to screen programs on the big screen.
Any recommendations?
I'm thinking that I want something with true 1080 resolution (whatever that means) with a component input. This would allow me to hook up the HVX, right? I'm guessing that color accuracy would not be precise but what about resolution and sharpness? Is there any set that would reveal the true glory--or horror--of my footage?
What kinds of inputs do I need to connect up my powerbook (latest, non-Intel model)? Even an Apple Cinema doesn't give an accurate picture unless you also use a device like the Matrox Mxo so I doubt some consummer TV set is going to do better but I don't really know.
I find the specs and hookups confusing. Never sure what is real or emulated.
Thanks.
