I have an upcoming project, one person sitting down, head shot within next two weeks, the final material will be used on his website.
I will be using HPX170 along with AT897 with boom or maybe AT899 lavalier microphone and Sound devices mixpre, as well as 3-point lights.
Not certain about the blue screen. I will do the post work as well.(One man band)
Should I use the AT899 lavalier, or AT897 shotgun microphone for the best result? What would be the fair price to ask?

What you should charge should be based on your level of experience and what your local market will bare. So that's something you will have to determine for yourself. Your best bet for your audio situation is to use both the lavalier and shotgun at the same time and split them off to separate channels. That way you have a choice of options. If you are going to do blue screen work you will need a lot more lighting equipment than three point lighting. There are a number of good tutorials available via Google.

Thanks a bunch Jim, yes, I do have a additional 500w light if we use blue screen. But I would definitely use both microphones. I mostly done a wedding project, this type of project is new to me.

depending on how its used, a single 500w light is probably not enough to light for blue screen.

you really need at last one 500w per side to light the screen evenly

Thank you, very well said. Now I have to buy the second 500w. Now you can tell the level of my experience when it comes to this type of projects. But I truly appreciate, you folks sharing your expertise.

here is a pic of my typical basic standup chroma setup:

• 8-10' backdrop
• 2 kino 4', 4 banks. one left and one right (for lighting screen
• subject 4-8' in front of screen
• light subject as needed. in this case a collection of kinos
