Please Help!

Hi everyone,

I´m having some serious problems trying to start my Avid Training DVD on my workstation.

I followed all of the steps as they were explained but when I try to import all I get is

´ The file format of "RF Selects.avb" is not supported for import` ???

Could somebody please explain what I am doing wrong?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
 
When you use the import command, Avid is expecting footage of some kind. AVB files aren't footage, but rather Avid Bin files. Use the Open command under the File menu for that.
 
Do the steps say to import "RF Selects.avb" or does it say open "RF Selects.avb" ?

The file extension .avb is reserved for Avid bins. Bins are usually opened not imported. Files (TGA's, PSD, mov, etc.) are imported.
 
Hi,

it said "open", but when I tried to open it nothing happened, so I tried to import it, which is when I got the message.

I have just tried to open it again and this time it has worked.

Thankyou both for taking the time to help me. I am very grateful. Hopefully that should be it now!
