I need help. Going to Africa tomorrow. Need some advice mainly on shooting animals in the wild under hot sun. Possible frame rates/shutterspeed. ect. Master pedestal? color?

If you like the look of our Africa footage, you'd use chroma level +7, b.press gamma, and a master pedestal of -4 (HVX) to -15 (HPX170). Mostly shot at 1080/24pA (for slow creatures like elephants and giraffe) or 720/24pN @ 60fps (for fast critters like impala and running zebras or rhinos, etc).

Thanks so much Barry. I was a little lost on that. BTW where can I view your Africa footage? Do you have a link? Thanks

WOW Barry. That was really great footage. Anyway you can give me a few tips on how to capture a sunset like yours. That red glow was really nice. Thanks again

The red glow was artificial; we used color temp -7 to get that.

So, set your white balance for daylight (but NOT the preset!), and shoot at sunset (or sunrise) and crank the color temp down to -7...
