Please Help - Trouble capturing miniDV footage. HVX200/FCP

I am trying to import my mini dv footage into FCP with my HVX200. I am using a 1394 firewire cable, and have my "easy set-up" capture settings set to DV-NTSC and have tried using other NTSC and DV settings as well, and FCP still doesn't recognize my camera, or that I have anything plugged in at all. I have tried using a couple different firewire cables, so i don't think the cable is the problem. Wondering if there are any playback settings on the camera or anything I could do within FCP to help get this footage captured!

HVX200: in vtr mode, go to "other functions", then go to "pc mode" and toggle between the different 1394 settings.. you want to make sure your camera's fw is outputting a signal. try that..

FCP: View menu, select "refresh AV devices" try that also
