Please help: Tape stuck

My battery is completely dead, and for the night, I dont have my charger. I wont have my charger, wall plug, or 2 other batteries until tommorrow.

I need to get my miniDV tape out of the camera now, but the battery is completely dead, giving the camera not enough power to eject. Is there a manual way to eject a tape, or am I screwed?

I need something edited by tommorrow...
 
Damn, are you serious? I was hopin that wasn't the case. Seems like a wierd feature for panasonic not to have an eject possible when the battery dies...
 
I don't know of any camera that will eject the tape manually without power. Most, including the DVX, has a cover that will open manually without power, but the tape transport that sucks the tape in and lowers it onto the capstains is powered.
Think about it....
I can't believe you drained the battery so far dead that it will not eject the tape....

Gotcha... My camera was capturing footage, I thought I had enough to capture, and it died with about 6 seconds left to capture. So frustrating.

Anyway, I got it out... ended up leaving it off for about an hour, then tried again, and it had enough power to eject it.
