please help: my 5Dmkii won't record on Manual

I need some help. My Canon 5D mkii will not record when shooting on Manual...but WILL record when shooting on automatic. any advice on what's happening and how to fix this problem?

correct. nothing happens. I've shot on DSLR's for years now and never encountered this problem....

sounds weird; only thing I can think of is: maybe you still have the pre-manual-exposure firmware??

it's a possibility.....Can you direct me to the most up-to-date firmware that I should have my 5D? Are there a few different firmware updates I could install? is one of them better than the others? Thanks!

anything more modern than 2.0.3 should work

the last one is 2.1.1, but I'd stick to 2.0.9, as it seems like it's the last one supported by Magic Lantern - but: I have no 5D2 so I'm not sure about this; maybe someone else can help, or you can look into it here:

They really haven't added anything important since 2.0.9
