Please help me with this clip

Hello everyone, sorry for posting a critique question here but could someone please look at this clip and let me know if the grain is acceptable. I still need to send it into Color and it will be formatted for broadcast so it will be a little tighter on the shot.

Any words or advice would be great because I have viewed it on a large screen and notice some grain that I do not like.

Cheers

Ed

man, youre using a camera that just IS more grainy than other cameras. its just a feature of the camera.

i see some grain in a couple shots. but no. i dont see anything unacceptable. you could do a treatment of the "neat video" grain removal plugin on the final piece. that might even wind up looking extra "spa-like"...

I was thinking about Magic Bullet but I will pull it into Color tomorrow. What do you think about the AF100?

What do you think about the AF100?
to be honest, ive not used one. from the specs alone, i've chosen to more or less disregard it. i think at the price, avchd was the wrong choice for built-in codec. as was going sd card instead of P2. at least for my uses.

i kinda wonder if the af100 is panasonics apology to all the wedding shooters who couldnt get their heads around the price of P2 cards ; )

phillip blooms preliminary review points out some of the same things i thought about it:

i just got a GH2 and it does what i would have used the af100 for well enough for my requirements.

wgzn, what are some of the advantages of the P2 system over the SD cards? I bought the HPX a year ago and to this day I wonder if I would be more equipped to handle long events if I had cheaper media.

there is one: reliability.

i have never EVER heard of a P2 card failing. and the older (non E series) have no established life span.
its a buy once, buy well situation.

if you shoot a lot of long events, and dont have budget for a pair of 32gig cards, an hmc150 may have been a better choice for you

Yeah that's why I went with the HPX.

I have a 16, 32 and 64, but still there were times when I needed to rent another 32 to make up. Very pricy but I guess the long run you make up for it.

I liked the HMC150, that was had before buying the HPX170. I never had any trouble with the SD only slot but I was using good cards I had from my photography, that I do miss because the two 64 A-series cards I purchased cost more than the HMC150.

Now back to my question!!

Cheers

the answer to your question is a matter of one persons opinion vs another persons opinion.

and anyone whos chosen the hvx200/hpx170 as their camera, is probably going to consider it fine. there really isnt a whole lot to discuss on the subject other than ways to remove the grain in post if you find it unacceptable...
