GH2 Please Help me decide - REorder GH2 --- GH3? -- what in meantime?

Yes, Never even tried a better card.
I use Sandisk and Transcend 16gb and 32gb.

The only times I had problems was on the 176mbs hacks. But Flowmotion is fine.

I only ever shoot in 24H too.

really? great. I've got one or two of em. wouldnt work in that lemon I sent back though.

Just got a 32-95.

Your comment and Fresno Bob's comment along with reading the manual has me wondering.

I don't know if the GH2 manual is correct, but on page 29 it states that if you use an SDXC card it should be either 48GB or 64GB. I see that Sandisk makes a 32 GB SDHC card with read speeds of 95MB/sec (90MB/s write) and is probably the one you have. I wonder if there is any benefit of having an SDXC card with write speeds of 90Mb/s over a SDHC card with the same write speed.

Also interesting is that Panasonic's own SDXC cards (48GB and 64GB) are only rated at 22MB/sec.

Can anyone comment on differences in an SDXC versus SDHC as it applies to the GH2?

free case, nice.

I was wondering what the best case for this camera is?

Yes, except it is too small too fit all my gear. I now have quite a few m43 lenses and since they are smaller the Lowe bag I have for my Nikon has pockets that are too big.

Here is a link to a discussion on this forum about which bag is best:

I looked at a couple bags that were mentioned and they seem to have the same "problem" my existing bag has, pockets are too big.

I'm thinking about trying to create a bag using foam and creating cutouts for each items using something like this Pelican foam:

Hi,
thanks for links. Did you build a bag yet? Im looking 1: just for a carryabout bag, for around town, maybe just big enough for the one kit lens.

And 2: second would be a storing bag/ case, { for more accessories with camera}

that could fit in a larger bag , for travel

thanks

thanks man. Honestly my credit is kind of iffy, so I dont know how that would fly? Also I might be getting greedy and starting to think I need both cameras. Or I might cancel the BMC if I get more fed up with it. or I might resell one if my tastes change. ?????

Our company has rented VERY pricey equipment in the past and we've never had a credit check. All you need is a CC for them to have on file usually.

I'm a loyal GH2 user, but from what I have seen of the BMC, it blows the GH2 out of the water.
Head over to the BMC specific forums and check the footage out. It's amazing.

I followed your advice and checked out some BMC samples and don't agree it blows the GH2 out of the water. In general I think BMC is blurry compared to the GH2. I sold my AF100 because I felt it was blurry and the BMC is more blurry than the AF100. The only BMC footage I like is that of Bloom and he sharpened it up in post. I could afford buying a BMC, already have the glass, but for now I'll stick with the GH2 and remain very curious about the GH3. I saw some amazing GH3 samples but also a few very bad ones but the best GH3 samples I find better than the best BMC sample.

I also remain curious about the digital Bolus, I like the 4:3 frame size, much more suitable for many things.

I think you are mixing up bytes and bits. A byte is 8 times as big as a bit. So 22MB is 176Mb. (MB = megabyte, Mb = megabit)

Correct me if I'm wrong.
