Please help! Hvx rental

So my crew rented an hvx here and we had two 8 gig p2 cards. my problem is when I connect the hvx up to my computer it dosnt read the p2 option of playback so I can capture the footage but it pulls up when selected to "tape" someone please help I have to get this footage off to be able to resume filming tomm.. I have a PCMCIA slot on an old laptop but its not pulling it up on my cmputer.

I just did that and for some reason still "1394 device disconnect"

Use USB for connecting to a PC, use firewire for connecting to a Mac.

No need to capture the P2 footage. You have set the camera's mode to USB and plug it up to the computer. Next, install the P2/HVX drivers with the camera connected and you should be good to go to grab the footage off the card (AKA, you'll need a copy of everything contained in the card's file structure).
