Please help a noobie

I'm a noobie with the dvx100a, so someone please advise me. After shooting in 24p and I begin to edit scenes in the pro CS4 the avi looks great after exporting. After it's burned to disc using the DVD program from my laptop(toshiba). It yields that cheap video look, with yellowish-blurred colors in different places in the scenes. Am I not doing something right in post, is it the DVD burn software from my lap, or does it have something to do with the settings on the camera prior to shooting?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Since you didn't export as MPEG-2, it went through a second compression to MPEG-2... That usually causes some artifacting and blockiness. My advice would be to export as a M2V file and use Encore instead of whatever you are using.
