please evaualate my work

Hi Spencer ! I watched a few of the pieces, its great that your putting together a selection of clips on the one site. I like your handheld camerawork on the Bess 'Little Stone' promo but saying that I dont know if its the video compression or settings but the focus seems soft. Also the focus pulls didn't always hit the mark. Personally I like shallow dof, but not to excess; the blurred images were a little overdone for my liking.
From a directorial point I think the woman should have been singing to camera with more attitude, the lyrics were about what she wants /feels but I didnt get that from her performance. It seemed like just another 'cool performance' with stock images. I guess I felt the images did not sit right with the song. It seemed too sweet, I would like to see something a little edgier. I would say find the story behind the song; shoot that and you could have a good pop song. No disrespect but you asked for feedback. If it is a compression or setting issue I would try and repost them as you only get one chance to make an impression with potential clients.
Good luck !!

great feedback ray, and yes a couple of shots are a bit soft, mainly because it is just me doing everything and 14 hours of shooting handheld is pretty killer on the body and mind. I was mainly using that Bess video to test the M2 adapter, our next one will be much more of a story. Also we have only had budgets of $00.00 so far, so without money it is tricky to build story w/out actors props etc.

bess footage looks great. keep up the good work, you do very well handheld i wish i knew how you did that! watching 'strip' now, is this shot on hvx?
