I'm sure you can take it out. I would hope so at least. Many times I don't need ambient audio so I don't want that huge phallic symbol everywhere I go.

the big one is clearly removable - it is the small one on the handle they are talking about.
it is unlikely that will be going anywhere - atleast it is smaller then the one on the DVX.
