Please check our first DVX music video

that was pretty damn cool. Only thing i would have done differnt is green screened them and instead of a white sheet, later keyed it to be 100% white. :)

i like the text effect although it got a little old after a while. how did you mask around your subjects to get the text behind them? was it a key or did you rotoscope it?
 
the dvx can do very good green screening in 24PA mode, check out the tutorials on www.videocopilot.com (the serious effects and compositing would be the one to buy, it actully shows EXACTLY what you need)
 
Sorry man, I don't want to sound really negative, but I think you should hear it. The text really doesn't seem (to me) like it works with this piece. Actually what it did was TOTALLY point out how absurd that guys lyrics are. It's not your fault, but he had rhymes of an elemtary school kid. That made it cheapen the video for me. Maybe if it only had text for some, then it would be better. I got really bored after about 30 seconds, so I'm not sure if you kept it a performance video the whole time, but if you did, I'd suggest adding at least another location next time. Also, the beginning was distracting, because I wanted to see the band members, but the shaking effect went on a bit too long.

Heh, I'm just about 180, I liked everything the above posted didn't. Oh well, to each his own...

The only thing tha bugged me was the white background draped on the (persian?) rug. It kept grabbing my my eye. Other than that I thought it was very good.

i think the text was a really cool effect and very well done for quick and cheap.

slimothy's right about the song (didn't like it), but ur jobs to make cool videos, not worry if the lyrics are any good. The only concern would be in the band thought the lyrics were bad and didnt like you bringing attention to that, but assuming that doesnt happen i'd say you've done a great job.

I of coarse have little nit picky things about it i didnt like, but most of that is because it's ur first attemp, the next one will be twice as good, and so on. Good work.

PS are you also in the band, or only did the video?

No I am not in the band but it was a no budget video for close friends...so the comment regarding the lyrics...mm...lets stick to the footge and execution please..I want to make cool videos..not write songs...but thanks anyways...will look at the song nextime before I jump in.

nice ae work man, but i agree. this guys lyrics are straight up retarded. short bus retarded. If I had a time machine i would go back in time and put a screwdriver through my ear drums so that i could continue living a peacefull life without ever hearing this guy spit his bullshit. but the rotoscoping is tight, and i can appreciate it considering how much i've done in the past 40 hours...
 
you did a nice job, but got bored after a while, you should have used at least one more location. Don't care about the lyrics, but the words did get distracting. Your choice of shots and effects was good though overall. White got tiresome also.
