Ok, Ok, I know the PS3 is going for around $1,500.00 on eBay right now.

How much will they sell for when the 17th rolls around and people really find out they can't get one?

Crazy!

the ps3 will come out for $499.00 and $599.00, the $599.00 being of MUCH better value. ONLY buy the 599 one, trust me.

only 400,000 are being released on the 1st day, but i also read on IGN that they expect to have somewhere around 4.3 million available by christmas in the states. Heres to hoping so, i missed out on the pre orders for these and the Wii. Im a very sad gamer. :(

Yeah those prices are crazy thats were the phrase "RAPED ON EBAY" came from but for the Wii there's gonna be 1million units on launch they will be very easy to get a hold of so pre-ordering is sort of pointless if you ask me but i would pre-order the games if i was you it sorta looks like there might be a a shortage on Zelda : Twilight Princess. Even though there will be plenty of unit's at launch I will still camp out at walmart so i can get one at Mid-Night but thats just me a Nintendo Fanboy!!!!

yeh the PS3 will be on ebay of high prices over $3,000 . I just know it will be alot of money since only 400,000 in the nation at launch day.

a pre order for the ps3 sold for 4,000 2 weeks ago when the big preorder thing happened.... and thats just to say you have 50 dollars down on the system... crazy huh.

$4,000.00 WHATTTTTT! People are crazy!

Wii....yes I really want a Wii, more so than the PS3!

I own (and highly recommend) an XBox 360. The HD-DVD peripheral is released in November. Cheap HD-DVD ($200)!

I will probably buy a Wii, also....it's reasonably priced and innovative.

Sony still hasn't convinced me to jump on the PS3 bandwagon...

I've played a lot of games on the ps3 (I freelance for a gamer website), and it BLOWS the 360 away. I mean seriously, its rediculous. The games really take advantage of the technology, and eventually, they'll be taking real advantage of the blue-ray tech and it will be AMAZING. The 360s HD-dvd drive (according to microsoft) will only be used for movies, as of yet, they dont have plans to produce HD-dvd games. PS3 is a worthwhile expenditure, and, like the Wii, it has the sixaxis controller, which, honestly, after playing for a while gets old. It's too much of a workout.

In that case, I look forward to seeing the PS3 in action. I've wasted copious amounts of my life playing Call of Duty 2 on XBox 360.

BTW, Microsoft is reportedly upgrading the 360's resolution output to 1080p via an upcoming firmware upgrade. The cool thing about the 360 HD-DVD is that for $200, you have a 1080p HD-DVD player. And you can rent the movies on Netflix. I plan to start doing so in November.

Xbox 360 has bored me recently, i look foward to gears of war which comes out on my birthday btw. :P But cant live without Silent Hill 5 (rumored PS3 exclusive) DMC, Final Fantasy's, Metal Gear, there are alot more reasons to own a PS3 then an xbox 360, but the Wii will pwn them all! Wii will rock you!

most games will have the option to slip the Wiimote into a housing that looks alot like the gamecube controller to play in a classic style control setup, while still maintaining the motion sensor environment as well. ANd you can turn the Wiimote sideways to play the downloadable NES/SNES/SEGA/3DO etc... classics

yeah they said you could plug in the gamecube controller if you wanted too. so smash bros and all will be great... so i happy with nintendo... getting both the wii and ps3

I vow to pwn everyone in Smash Bros. with Snake. :)

PS3 is going to destroy everything graphically, and the Blu-Ray player to boot? Too much goodness. I missed out on pre orders, so ill be sleepin in front of Best Buy on the 17th. Anyone else?

$3000 is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a console. Hard to believe people aren't willing to wait three months.

I was in line at Toys R Us on Sunday to pre-order the Wii and there was a guy there selling his PS3 pre-order ticket for $1500. The ticket was handed out to him for free and was just giving him the chance to place a $100 pre-order.

The guy in front of me bought the ticket with cash. Unbelievable.

Thats how it goes. What bothers me is that im a loyal customer willing to pay for a device from a company and support it fully by purchasing the games, and im ready to hand my money over for a retail PS3 and i cant. And theres nothing anyone can do about that. This is pretty much the only market where you have to be an uber nerd or just insane about sleeping outside and waiting days for a peice of hardware. Its pretty wrong when you cant just go and buy one when you want one. I hate it.

Definitelty. Some people at this Toys R Us had been camping out since Thursday night. Personally, I'm a Nintendo fanboy but I feel your pain. Yeah the demand is there for the PS3 but it seems so half-assed to only release a handful of systems for each store at launch.
