Playing dvcpro hd qt on a non fcp mac

Posted this a few days ago in the post section but got no response any help would be appreciated. Bit of a noob one but, how can I play DVCPRO HD QT files on a mac that has not got FCP installed?
Is there a codec download I'm missing?

apple only distributes the dvcpro hd quicktime codec with FCP. you can't get it from them any other way.

there is a solution however. download and install the latest version of p2cms from panasonic. it installs the codec you need for QT.
