FS7: Playback

So Ive watched Dougs chapter on 'playback' and im still a bit lost.

Consider that I have a clip 20mins long, and a want to watch a bit at 5 mins, and then watch it again.. then maybe toggle to 10mins and have a look there.. is there a way?

FYI.

I have found that the buttons next to the sel select wheel enable 4Xfwd and 4Xreverse if held down for a bit.

Handy if you need to scan through a long take.

Far from perfect but better than nothing.

Need to dig that out and test. Good plan.

Ive snapped the wifi dongle off (of course!)

Both the remote and the camera have magic buttons that seem hard to press. Horrid.

haha... so you dismantled the grip and snapped the wifi dongle. Remind me never to lend you gear!

I always have the remote in the bag but have never used it once. But I seem to recall it has playback controls on it.
 
..and threw away the top handle and took the viewfinder apart to make a little sunhood before adding the SmallHD502.

I now have a camera with Luts in any mode and a small lanc control mountable anywhere on the rig or sticks and a top handle directly above the CofM of the camera with my lenses attached.

No just one. I carefully disassembled it, and noted what I was doing, so that if I found a soldering wizard I would be able to do that.

I put the project on hold to see where the other chap got to with his reverse engineering project (see other thread somewhere)

My main desire 'focus tap' should hopefully come together complete with off centre focus if SmallHD get their sh_t together on a controller with their monitor...
