playback probs

i'm having a problem with the vcr mode on my dvx. whenever i insert a tape and attempt to play it back it holds over the pixels from previous frames causing distortion to the current image. it still records fine, and i can play the tape i've recorded in other cameras without a problem. i've used a head cleaner for it, and nothing has happened. does anyone know how to fix this. thanks,

Does this do it to all the tapes you put in? Or is it just that particular tape you put in? Does it playback like that through out the entire tape or just in the begining? This happens to me but its due to a bad tape.

i've used multiple tapes, old to brand new. it happens throughout all of them. but it is worse on some than others.
