Hi,
I recorded a Mini-DV tape 4 years ago at 24pA with 32khz 12-bit audio on a Canon XL-2. I have since ditched the XL-2 for an HVX200A.
I now am in need of playing back this tape in the HVX200A's mini-dv deck. No problems with the video. I was able to batch capture into FCP 6 with advanced pulldown removed upon ingest. However, the audio is not playing back properly. Drop outs all over the place.
I tried the tape in 2 DVCAM decks and got mixed results. One deck played it fine, the other had the same dropout issue. So I know the tape is fine.
Is there anything I should know about playing back 32khz 12-bit sources on an HVX200A for capture into FCP? Would love to get clean audio off these tapes. PS I get drop outs just playing it back. This, of course, carries over into whatever is captured off the tape.
Thanks in advance,
JD
