PL-adapter back focus question

I guess some of you have some experience with PL to MFT adapters. Do they usually work out of the box or do you need to shim them in order to get proper back focus?
I'm thinking of Hot rod, and "Polish" adapters. I would be glad if somebody could share their experience.

I have the Hotod PL mount and it was spot on out of the box. Then again all my PL mount lenses are all in spec as well.

I have the Vocas Micro Four Thirds to PL Adaptor and it's sweet. Comes with rail mount support.

I have the Vocas and it was perfectly aligned. I also have the "Polish" adapter and it was not in spec and does not align to the focus marks. And, by design, is not inherently shimmable. If you're buying a less-expensive adapter, you may very well expect that you'll have to shim it.

I've just rent BMC with 'Polish" PL adapter. It worked great with CP2 and the focus marks was accurate. The adapter looks like this one but also had rails mount

His older PL mount ( which I bought almost three years ago) required shimming in order to work properly with my GH1.

Vocas seems sweet but a bit expensive. Love the rails mounting, I thinks that's crucial. Thank you for the replies. I feel more assured now that I'm getting a product I can use.
