Pixilated Text with Final Cut Express

I'm in the process of learning to use Final Cut Express for editing footage shot with my DVX100B. When I add text (such as credits) to the film in FCE and then play it back in the full screen preview, the letters are extremely pixilated. Am I doing something wrong? Is the preview only shown at partial quality? Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

If you're doing a full-screen preview, chances are the resolution of your screen is higher than your footage. Since you're using a DVX, you're probably showing 720x480 footage on a screen with 1024x768 or higher screen. Play it in the Canvas window at 100%, what does the text look like then?

Thanks for the suggestion. When I play it in the Canvas at 100% the text is clear and does not look pixilated. But when I finally export the movie to DVD/film, will the text still look clear, even on a large television screen? And is there a way to adjust the resolution of the full screen preview so that the image looks as it should?

Thanks again for your help.

A full-screen preview is just blowing up the video. It's like when you take a normal Quicktime and blow it up. As long as you have anti-aliasing on (I don't even know if it's an option to turn it off), your text should be fine on any TV. Remember, just because the TV gets bigger doesn't mean its resolution increases.
