Pixel aspect ratios

Hi everyone,

I searched the forums here and didn't find what I was looking for, although I may have just missed it in the eight pages of results. :)

Anyway, I'm looking for the various pixel aspect ratios for the various formats that the HVX200 can record to. Can anyone help? I think I've seen it mentioned as 1:1 for HDV, but I'm not sure.

Don't know if this is what you mean (as it seems pretty simple).

1080p=1920x1080
720p=1280x720
480i Squeeze=864x486 (I think)
480i Normal=720x480
480i Letterbox=720x480 with back bars so only 720x405 pixels of actual resolution.
 
Hi David,

Actually, what I need is the shape of the pixels. For instance, regular vanilla DV is .9:1, so the width is 90% of the height, slightly vertical. Thanks for the effort!

US PARs:
4:3 DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50: .9091
16:9 DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50: 1.21
720p: 1.333:1
1080: 1.5:1

PAL PARS:
4:3 DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50: 1.09:1
16:9 DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50: 1.45:1
720p: 1.333:1
1080: 1.333:1

Isn't it all the same...

Isn't that just Square vs Rectangular (Oval) pixels? I thought all DV was rectangular, despite the overal horizontal or vertical resolutions.
