Pinnacle Studio 14 editing AVCCAM

I am trying to edit my Panasonic HMC150 AVCCAM video with Studio 14. The preview playback is delayed, stutters, and impossible to edit. Any ideas how I can make adjustments to the AVCHD so I can edit in Standard def or use a "work-around" until I can afford an i7 processed PC?

Goto Set-up the set-up menu and choose Video and Audio Prefences. Make sure the Background Rendering option is checked. If it is, then you're pretty much SoL on editing AVCHD natively (which even pro-NLEs have problems cutting by the way.).
