Looks like every company is switching to CMOs for low and mid range camera. Anyone here know if the rolling shutter probllem is close to being resolved or what? I heard that it's very very expensive/complicated to design global shutter for CMOS. I have a feeling 1/4.1 inch CMOS with much higher pixel number (than HMC150) is chosen so it will NOT take away the sales from HMC150.

From all the info I know, I will slightly prefer JVC GY-HM100, but of course, HMC150 is good enough for me and I will never buy rolling shutter.

I can only understand some part of it, basically there is no new info which has NOT been discussed earlier, such as 3.05M pixel, 1/4.1 3MOS, max still picture: 10.6M pixel. Max 180 min recording at PH grade (21 Mbps avg) 3 year factory warranty ( no cost to owner), 2.7" LCD, 2 channel internal microphone, native 1080/24p recording, robust design, reliable/durable operation even with condensation, vibration, temperature change.

This is all I can translate.

yeah, that's pretty much everything.
if there is something else let me know and I can translate it.

Looks like the same form-factor... looks like the same audio adapter for the XLRs... sure wish I had kept my hard case and adapter!

Wow, the DVC30 form factor including the removable handle. Anybody want to bet that the XLR adapter from the DVC30 DOESN'T WORK????? It would seem way out of character to allow you to use accessories "left over" from a previous cam.

I'm anxious to hear more about this one.

I'm sure you're right about the adapter not working from one cam to the next... who makes money from that???

As stated in a previous thread, the one thing I hope they do with the XLR adapter is make the cable with a right angle connector so it doesn't jut out as far as it did when attached to the camera on the DVC30.

If it's a simple XLR-to-1/8" adapter, why wouldn't it work? It's pretty standard stuff. I can't imagine an instance where a set of headphones would work but the adapter wouldn't.

It is not a simple XLR to 1/8 adapter. It is a proprietary multi-pin snap lock connector, and yes, it does stick out a little bit like a sore thumb.

Well, just in case the old XLR adapter will work, I'll not unload it just yet....
