GH2 Picture Names

Like most cameras, the GH2 seems to name it's pictures numerically - 1000256, 1000257, etc. I've noticed the numbers continue sequentially even if you change from RAW to JPEG.

But one thing I can't figure out is why some images have the underscore before the number, and some have a P before the number.

_1000356.RW2
_1000357.RW2
P1000358.RW2
P1000359.RW2
_1000400.RW2

The date and time don't seem to be a determining factor. Nor does shooting mode, as all were done in C3. The lens was the same for all shots.

Does anyone know what makes the difference between _ and P in the name of the shot?

This has to do with whether you use AdobeRGB or sRGB as the color space for the picture. I believe that AdobeRGB are the _xxxxxxxx.RW2 images. Though, I don't think the color space affects the raw file, obviously because it is raw, but it affects the .jpg files, so I guess it uses the naming convention regardless. If you don't know why it's changing back and forth (as I didn't at one point) the color space can be saved in your custom settings (C1, C2, C3), and I believe possibly per mode (M, A, S, P, Manual Movie, Custom Color etc) as well.

I wish it changed something at the end of the file name so that they would still be chronological in regular order, such as 1000356-a.RW2 and 1000357-s.RW2. Actually, I don't know why I need to know which color profile is used (and I could always look at the metadata) but then again I don't shoot stills professionally (very often) so I'm sure there is probably a reason others might need that info quickly, by looking at the file name.
