Hey all

this is a video a friend of mine did, helped him out with it for school.

this wasnt actually shot on the dvx, but i told him i would post it around as requested.

Acting isnt all that great, neither is lighting, but he did a good job on the editing.

Nothing too fancy, just fun stuff, have a look if your bored, if u like, comment :) if not, comment lol.

peace.

Very interesting - good acting, great music! So let me see if I got this right, in the end of the movie he seems to be stuck between two evils? picking up the phone and finding out something terrible which may lead him to suicide, or suffering from his nightmares?

actually, the way i understood it was that it was just a guy in his sleep, his phone was ringing, which was causing him to go through a series of nightmares.

lol

simple

I like the shot where he gets the medicine out from the mirror cabinet that transitions into an outdoor scene. That one scared me a bit, especially with the SFX that you added at that timeframe. Great work! Sound like a version of me when I totally oversleep and ignore phone calls or not hear them at all.

Really enjoyed this ..well done.
Question ..PaPa , as you know Youtube Re-compresses the matarial you send in . Could you give us an idea what settings you used .

I tried MP4 (Vegas) and tried to get the highest mb possible but mine still looks like crap compared to yours . Widescreen is not bad but my 4.3 looks like S###t
Thanks
Ian

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jonathan, and I'm the creator of this little film. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. Papa is a buddy of mine, and, as you can see, I like to use him for my films.

Just to let you know, this wasn't shot on a DVX, but a panasonic PVG-S60. Basically the cheapest 3ccd mini dv camera out there.

Well since I'm the one that posted it, i'll answer. :)

I actually compressed it in real player .rmvb and it seems to always look nice on youtube. Also .rmvb is small. This file was about 21 megs.

Jon, I'll be honest. Any kind of camera that doesn't look pixellated is already a pass in my book. A camera such as the PVG-S60 model is good enough. I know exactly how it feels to be on a very low end budget and purchasing a good camera can be hard. Nice job indeed on this little film of yours. Make more and be inspirated.

Jon Starr......"I actually compressed it in real player .rmvb and it seems to always look nice on youtube. Also .rmvb is small. This file was about 21 megs.[/quote] "

Many Thanks
Ian

whoa, that was REALLY good Jon Starr.

It was made really well, and the transitions were killer! I learn a lot from watching shorts like these! Thanks

Thanks Disasian

lol Papa... nice... sounds like a bad joke that my mom would make... :P

Oh, and the film "might" be accepted to the Fantasia Film Festival. A Producer I work for is friends with the head hancho of the festival, and my producer may even be on the panel of judges, and she's convinced me to send it to him because she beleives it should be in the festival.

Even if it doesn't make it, it's still an honor that someone thought it was film festival worthy, especially for something as big as the Fantasia Film Festival.

Still waiting for word on it.
