Piano Music Video shot with Letus35

I was kind of unsure about the Letus35 until I actually tried it out. My friend let me borrow his for a day and I absolutely love it. It takes a while getting used to, and I have never used one until this video.

This video was shot completely with the Letus except for the crane shots and a few of the early b-roll shots.

We have a cobra crane 2, I believe, and our dolly was custom made by a metal manufacturing company in Texas.

Kevin, great work. Now some notes.

Some of those shots looked very-very nice (violin & piano keys esp)

Some of the crane shots looked too fast for the slow paced melodic tone. Some seemed to shake as well.

Overall, very nice visuals. Very good lighting (natural?). Well done. Very nice location as well.

PS: How'd the heck did you get a piano into a forest?

Dear Kevin,
I really loved the visuals and the feel of this video! Very well put together. I really am enjoying the look of the adapter (letus35) you used. If you could, I'd like to know which Letus35 it was specifically, because I am looking to get a 35mm adapter and this one looks really nice! So, was it the regular Letus35 or the Letus flip or the letus with the special achromat? Just wondering. Thank you very much, Kevin.

Yeah the one that shook I only got 1 take on, should have gotten more, and Ive been told that other crane shot is too fast. Maybe I'll switch those out.

Yeah, its all natural lighting. And the bridge is the oldest bridge in South Carolina, built in 1820. You can visit the artists website to see BTS pics of how we moved the piano. www.christinebaniewicz.com

Haha, that was the whole issue about the video. At first we were going to gut it to make it easier, but it looked so cool when the hammers moved. We resulted in getting alot of guys to carry it from a pickup truck to the bridge, and during the video we found out that there was a boy scout camp about a mile down the road, and they came with their backhoe when we were done and just picked up the piano in the scooper and drove it back to our pickup truck. Believe me, those old pianos are heavy.

It wasnt the letus flip. That was the hardest thing about using it. I believe its just the regular Letus35. If I had the money I would buy the flip, because the regular one is not just upside down, its backwards too, and its really hard to follow talent if they move. Hope that helps.

looks great! I used a letus on the video I'm working on.

It's really cool, but boy is it frustrating when you forget to turn the switch on!

I did notice a panning shot that had a black speck on it...you know which one I'm talking about?

Ah, the infamous black spot. We found out that the black spot is actually on the inside of the canon lens that we had on the front of the letus, and we cant get to it. Grrr.....

So the lesson we can all take away from your production is to use the local scout camp as cheap labor.

cc is great. colors fit the mood. i like that the piano is dirty and the framing on the shots of the hammers was perfect. i also noticed the shake in the jib shots which kind of distracts a bit and the dolly zoom shot of her walking to the piano near the beginning seemed out of place for this kind of song. overall great video though. nice acting on her part. letus looks great too.

Awesome video, she plays with the camera really well and has an amazing unique voice, does she have a myspace or someplace to hear more music, I'd like to buy a cd? Nothing but props on the video, I thought it was well paced, the only thing I thought was the hug for the violinist was a little weird. That voice, omg!!!:crybaby:

Btw, I couldn't save it, the name comes up as "Lullabye.test.v4" but it's an empty file.

Edit: Just saw it for about the 3rd time and she has some pronunciation issues, she says "Mutey" instead of beauty on the first chorus, and "Hangry" instead of angry towards the end. I'm a producer so I'm a little extra nit-picky on the words, pronunciation, and performance along with the video.
