I cannot believe what 3D artists are doing now.

I'm completely obsessed with photo real CGI/3D stuff.

Seriously. I can't sleep. I'm just hunting down the best most realistic images I can find...non-stop.

whered you hear that? the 3rd gens are fast but real time? i can't believe that.

yeah, I have just rendered a pic on 3GHZ HT, and it took 30 mins.that is one frame, and not 15/sec . OK I can reduce the quatity and in "game-like" mode it takes about a minute, but that is still not RT.

Here's a link to a new renderer called Maxwell Render. It uses the real physics of light to render instead of faking it, so to speak. Really good stuff, and I plan on getting me a copy of it as soon as it's available.
