Hi to all.

I got a directional micro for my DVX and I am not sure if I have to connect the 48V switch or not. I did not try just for saftey reasons (I do not know if I can damage the micro with the 48V entry) It is a regular Panasonic directional micro dedicated to DVX.

Thanks a lot.

Hello

if you plug the mic into the XLR connector, have gain dial set midway, plug headphones in, and don't get any sound, then you need to turn on phantom power. This is required if your mic is a condenser with no self power. If your mic is a dynamic, you don't need phantom power. Most likely, you have a condenser mic.

This is changing... see the BLUE Ball and some others...

The Blue Ball, wow, interesting. Pretty soon, maybe everything will need phantom power, except of course the good ol' sm57.
