Pete who? P2?

I'm waaaay overdue for a camera update from my beloved HVX. Lots invested in P2 cards, batteries and accessories. Seriously thinking about the Canon XF100 as the best bang4thebuck (considering most of my clients still want DVD or straight to web). But also considering staying w P2 based cameras since that's what I know, me and Panny have had a good relationship and I've got all them accessories etc....any opinions on a camera under $4K that makes sense considering these factors?

The logical upgrade would be to an HPX250... yes, it's well above $4K, but you can re-use your P2, batteries, and probably most of your accessories. Power and media can be a huge expense in a new format camera as you well know. The 250 is wonderfully flexible in terms of its various shooting codecs.

Alternates would be the XF100/105 or AC130

Most definitely the HPX250. If you get it with the free 64GB card (after rebate) and sell that card, the price comes down to not much more than $4k...

As a result of your input I have been on a quest to acquire an HPX250, it does make the most sense....any recommendations on purchasing b-stock cameras from a dealer? Also, insight about a Canadian visiting the US buying said camera? Long story I suppose, but I'm visiting LA in April!

My subconscious nerd-radar is obviously working, NAB while I'm there just by chance? I think not!
I'm now wondering what kind of show specils there might be for an HPX250 at NAB....any bets? B-stock is available for under $4k but basically no warranty...
