This is a combination of no script for actors and no pre-production (rehearsal time) for them. But the reailty is they just can't act. This was a girl who I worked with who 'took' acting lesson's for like EVER and I just assumed she could act. I'll never make that mistake again.



Thanks slim. More people seem to like that sequence above everything else. I agree; showing the headshot (heading whipping back?) would have been cool. Both actressess bitched and moaned the whole time about 'How hot is was..." I was just rushing at this point. (Like the ****ing crew wasn't hot as well?)

-I know exactly what you mean about wanting to scream. That happens like 14 times for me when I watch my film!!

-I hate it when I get the old "I've been acting for years". The legless zombie in my film was one of the only ones with actual "experience" in acting. She was also the hardest to work with and in my opinion the least talented of everyone involved.

-Yea, her head whipping back real quick would have been perfect, you wouldn't even need any blood. Just a quick whip and cut to the other girl running up to her. That would have sealed the kill in my eyes. I was lucky I didn't have anyone bitching about the heat and I live in the ****ing Desert!!!

I actually scored Hudson's pic a little higher than some of you guys. This is the first one that came up in the rotation that felt like a real movie. Granted I saw it early on, and I was later blown away by Shed and Texas Fortune and such, but I think I gave John at least an 8 for this work. Yes the story could have used some work etc., but it sure "felt" like a real movie. Great work, JH!
 
I didn't read through the eleven pages of posts, so sorry if I repeat others comments.

I just got to this one, and, man I was impressed. Like Barry said, it felt like the real deal. Your love of the horror genre definitely shines through. I loved the freeze frames. Your score, camera work, editing, and sound design were all excellent. My only real criticism would be in the acting performances. Just the way a couple of lines came out. It felt a little scripted. That aside, all your other elements hit the mark for me. I would be proud of this one. It was a blast to watch

Hey, I never got a chance to comment, so I want to say thanks for a great short.
It has Danny Boyle written all over it.


I got all of the references/homages, but I have a correction for the statement above. Night of the Living dead had the Venus probe radiation, Night of the Comet had the comet. Also, I could be wrong, but the "viruses" look like bacilli (bacteria).

Your music was amazing. Much of my music was actually made on a PocketPC (LOL).

Your work is far from ****, and thanks for some kind words on mine which I'll say was truly SHITE.

LOL, I'm sure john appreciates the deserved props but your science background makes you a fillmmaker's worst nightmare from a technical accuracy standpoint, hahaha. I'm going to hire you as a technical consultant for my scifi! I wouldn't have known what was under that microscope from laughy taffy, hahaha! :)

What can I say? Ignorance is bliss... but I don't mean that in a bad way.

Sometimes I wish I didn't know what I know about science and movie production.
It would be fun to watch movies like the public and not see the "man behind the curtain."

Ignorance is bliss -- except when it comes to filmmaking ... and then it makes me sad :(
