Stye in my eye
So I made this back in november. It's a short film made for a local film contest in which we were to adapt a local writer's book into a short film. I lost though. For a while I wasn't really happy wiht the final product. Even though I'm still not really satisfied with it because of some shakey acting and somewhat uneven pace, I have decided to post it here to see what people here think.
The book is loosely based on a local conspiracy theory about powerful local men having sexual relations with 13 year old boys. Well, my film is loosely based on his, taking place years later. I kind of made my own story because I figured everyone else's films would probably be taken directly from the book. Since it's an ugly, raw idea, I decided to make the film such, so there's a lot of shakey hand-held camera work, and a jagged editing style, so don't expect it to be pretty.
