GH2 Perhaps the first full feature movie on the hacked gh2... incredible trailer

Wow, so inexpensive. Have you used that one?

I've never gotten one of these, but I would if I only have to put $40 down.

No - I have not used any viewfinder add-on so far. Seeing the behind-ther-scenes has renewed my interest. I've now asked him direct, on the Vimeo thread. I will post back here if he replies ... EDIT: he responded that it was indeed the LCDVF 16x9 http://www.glidetrack.com/lcdvf-16-9.html.

By the way, here's an interview with the filmmaker, Gami Orbegoso (Vesubio?), about this piece, where he details the equipment he used, among other things like budget (less than $5,000), shooting time (7 days), crew (himself, wife, daughter, and friend), etc: http://artofthestory.com/?p=994

Very interesting and inspiring all the way around.

I'll be more inspired when I see the actual film. The trailer looks nice, but obviously those are hand-picked scenes. Since nobody on the crew had any experience it will be interesting to see how it turns out in the end. The trailer noticeably has no dialog.

That is awesome. 7 days? No matter how this film turns out, it's undeniably inspiring what he's accomplished with the gh2. Can't wait to be in his shoes!

hate to say it, but with my experiences from screening festival submissions... No dialog in the trailer usually means bad actors :/ hope not though it looks amazing

I've done something similar to this when shooting with a dolly.. Except we atttach a string and have the talent keep pace with the string if we are shooting something don juan or what not. The rope attached to the talent might be good also for kids and animals... lol

I do think the film looks good, and yep, we have no idea of the quality of the other elements, but it's refreshing to see this footage as for what it is...

As a test, I made a DCP of this trailer and watched it on the 8ft high screen at the place I work at, 2K digital cinema projection and all......looks UNBELIEVABLE for a sub $1000 camera. The quality really is almost the equal of the big expensive pro films I see all the time. No one can rightfully accuse the GH2 of not being a capable digital cinema camera for feature filmmaking - it is very capable (in the right hands of course). Vesubio deserves a hand for revealing yet another level of this camera's potential.

(Not to worry, Vesubio....I watched this test just once all by myself, no one else in the theater, and then immediately deleted the trailer from the server, just in case you were concerned).

True, but the point is that the camera is capable...which I assume is the primary point of interest for anyone on a camera forum.

If that House episode on the 5D had bad audio and no music, we'd still be lauding the visuals.

...ah no you don't! I'm telling Mr. Vesubio about this violation right now!

How is this a violation? I watched it on a big screen (bigger than most) after hours, all by my lonesome. Other than the size of the screen, it was not much different than someone watching it on their computer screen. I sense a hint of sarcasm in your comment so I'll just end with this
