GH2 Perhaps the first full feature movie on the hacked gh2... incredible trailer

Truly excellent work. One of the secrets for success with the GH2 and non Panasonic lenses is to steady the camera completely and that is obviously done extremely well with all the shots. Go GH2, the camera to beat. So many pluses for a tiny little thing.

Exactly... 95% of what people perceive to "be" the gh2 is coming through a panasonic lens. It's almost uncanny how much difference the lens makes with the GH2, more so than any other camera I can think of.

Very nicely done Daniel! Great attention to detail and composition. I hope the finished product is a big success.

Thank you for giving us a quality, well thought out GH2 product.

Kinda silly. Given the consumption format that could have just as easily been shot on almost any other HDSLR or RED camera and looked the same. Why do people with GH2's need so much positive reinforcement? Just shoot something already.

He did shoot something. Uhm... that was kind of the point of his post. I work with a lot of cameras. Film and video. And I've seen plenty of HDSLR footage. What Daniel posted was on another level. The 5D wouldn't have handled that.

Why do people with GH2s need so much reinforcement? Better question is; why would someone drop into a GH2 forums asking why they like their GH2s so much?

Most people here are shooting or are just about to do so. Some of us are still waiting for our cameras to arrive. Some are just looking for inspiration from like minded souls. And enjoying the company of their fellow camera fans/owners.

Really doesn't seem like something that should bother you so much.

It not me ;-) he is called Vesubio on vimeo. Sure i would have liked to have shot such a good looking movie. The author has said that it was going on the festival trail, lets hope we will hear a bit about it afterward.

I think Vesubio is the hero :-) look at his behind the scene photos... hey the $ 50 shoulder support. It really shows how people have been obsessed by gear on these forums.

I get more excited seeing footage like this than any Canon or Red announcement. I still can't believe the cost of GH2.. pound for pound the best camera for video out in the market when you factor in price/performance.

That movie looks great but i was bummed to see they were using the Zoom HN4 to record audio for a feature film. Maybe it was a budget thing but audio is one of the most important things that indie film makers overlook. Im interested in hearing the quality of the audio, but I just finished a mixing session for my movie and our guy explianed why you should never use an HN4 for feature film audio that has to be mixed for hopeful theater release.

They were shooting on a GH2...

But I agree, audio is often the weakest link. The other thing that really helps this is attractive actors that seem to know how to act, even without dialogue in this trailer...

While not my first choice, if you are using a decent microphone and have a knowledgeable location sound person, anyone with decent audio chops and a good editing system can make it sound first class in post. Again, if that is your only choice.....

So, never say never is my motto.

Definitely not what I would consider just okay, the first few shots are pretty money. That vimeo even compressed out to the 56" DLP was ridiculous. Had noone told me it was a low budget shoot the first few shots wouldve convinced me of a major budget.

Part of that though (most of it actually) is locations. Those alone make things look tons better.

Exactly. Location, actors, lighting, grading, composition, etc...the sample shots of the driftwood hack are amazing, but when you actually get most of the pieces of good filmmaking together like this trailer, it really makes high quality video shine.

If this was someone's cat in their backyard in Spain...the drooling wouldn't be quite as pervasive in this thread.

Its a great example. Some of the shots are absolute money. I feel like I'm watching a trailer on Apple for something shot on 35mm.
