Found someone's pretty damn impressive short shot on Pentax K-7 - shows off how capable it is despite not full HD and semi-auto controls

The short is actually entertaining on top of technically proficient! Amazing to see them put faith and effort behind a "forgotten" camera.

I hope Pentax keeps it up cuz' I'm dying for a body with Built in IS.

To be honest I have trouble watching shorts, sometimes hard for me not to skip through them. This one though was good from beginning to end, really well done and inventive.

Hey, it's the people who did "Ink"

I did enjoy that short.

yeah, starring the father and daughter from it too! I actually did like "Ink" a lot (I watched it on Hulu if anyone else is curious to see it) and wonder what he could have done with it if he had a DSLR at the time. I liked the story and directing on it but the look was a little off. As far as this short, the 30fps bothered me a little but other than that it was great. Should have used a K-x! ha.

I thought this was pretty amazing, by far one of the best shorts I have ever seen. Story was very compelling, shot creativity was good. I can't really find anything to dislike, very well done. And killacam, I am not sure how the 30fps could bother you. How could you even tell besides knowing that camera shoots in 30fps.

I actually thought it was kind of obvious. Can you really not tell the difference? Maybe knowing beforehand affected my perception but I think 30fps does look pretty video-y at times. I can't be the only one can I? I liked it a lot though and thought it looked nice, aesthetically at least it looked a little bit better overall than the look of "Ink" imho (besides the 30fps that is).

Thanks killacam, I didn't notice and I thought I was going crazy. I did notice it seemed a little videoish I just figured it was the way it was shot. I have always like 30fps though so I guess I didn't even think about it.

They put a making of video up!!!

Damn, this was really high budget. I'm curious why they chose the k-7, but glad they did, not sure if they were hired by Pentax for a demo, but I'm guessing because the camera is so small - they actually TAPED cameras to the BOTTOM OF THE CAR and the STEERING WHEEL.
