Pegasus II mini DV seadicam + GH1

long drop time is show high accuracy and smoth gimbal,
the point of steadicam is gimbal and high precision, that's the cost,
look MiniCAM,the gimbal is very small, the frame made by CNC not bearings,
many bearing design is make sure the high accuracy ,high precision and make gimbal smoth performance.

At something around $300 it can be reasonable.
Design allows even $200 price, as I think.

and why steadicam merlin cost $800?

Because it is steadicam(tm). :-)
You can't sell product from unknown company for such price.

$50 steadicam I could be able to make very good clip, but not to use and control, that's the point.

Exactly. Cheap things are especially hard to adjust.
I see that you can't turn lower part while adjusting total length, only move up or down).
This is very important as it is general flaw of all Flycams.

Hi,
$300 you can think of low accuracy no bearing Wondlan product.

I don't see logic here.
Flycam Nano is your direct competitor.
It even has 4 bearings (or 5, I don't remember, larger FlyCams use 5 bearings). And costs $115.

To conclude. It is very hard to sell such thing for such a price.

I am not seller,I introduce my design only.

Yes,but MiniCAM have more performance, easy to use than merlin.
and half cost to merlin.

I don't understand you mean,
but MiniCAM is minisize design, easy to bring outside, light, and high performance, easy to adjust, high reliable, high performance.

As you are designer.
Could you show how this thing is adjusted to specific camera and lens.
Any step by step photos or short video?

look,
Flycam Nano gimbal is very big,and handle is far,
big bearings meaning low accuracy,
far handle meaning use more power to carry.
MiniCAM have high precision system, can quick release, quick orientation to last position,
relative to Flycam Nano, MiniCAM is cheap.

And?
You need to have handle quite far to actually operate this thing if stem is stright.
On paper it looks good. In reality it is not.

big bearings meaning low accuracy,

Bullshi*.

far handle meaning use more power to carry.

Not more power, but different muscles are used in thsi case.

OK. Tell us, step by step with photos or on video how all this works.
Adjustments, quick releases.

Sorry,no photos or short video for this now,
but, adjust steadicam is easy for three step.
1 nearly top(camdorder) and bottom(balance weight) weight
2 adjust horizontal
3 drop time test
:grin::grin:

I can't explain, see video, MiniCAM work very good, not on paper only.

Bullshi*.
I am a designer,do many test for this, and make 912TCAM more year ago.
can see my video in vimeo http://www.vimeo.com/6978917
or http://www.motionbox.com/filings?folder_id=76573421
or early video http://www.motionbox.com/filings?folder_id=76885889 thank's.

It is leveraging, think about it.

quick releases see that ,but not MiniCAM http://www.motionbox.com/videos/a696dbb4111fe7c229
the same meaning, merlin is no this function, and is very important.

This video, in fact, proves that your design is inferior to FlyCam Nano.
Look at the angle of the handle.

You are here presenting your product.
But you can't really show advantages of this product.
If you want to sell this for around $500 you need all this to be easy to understand by avarage Joe.

you can use other cheaper product first, take more experience, then discuss later,
advantages of this product is mini... other advantages can see video,
talk is not explain everythings, sorry my english is poor.
other problem contact my friend Skyler.

that's ok,
you can choose other cheaper product, I am not MiniCAM seller.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

i'd probably pay $500 ish for the Tcam , but i'm not sure about the "non-vertical handle under cam" type .. the footage i saw from the tcam is the best i have seen from a non steadicam period.. although price is high for his MINIcam , i trust 912 knows what he is talking about in crafting these things.. a little respect i think is owed.

Just contact this guys.

but i'm not sure about the "non-vertical handle under cam" type.

Generally such stabilisers are better (if you mean Glidecam-Flycam type).
It is just harder to shoot with them for prolonged periods.

Design of this thing is very good, but some flaws clearly visible. Price is among them :-)

As for footage. Never look at it if you choose stabiliser. As steadicam operator is key factor here.
I know perfect things made by $100 Flycam and awful things made on Steadicam costing >$5000.

My experience has been that it is much easier to hold and work with a steady-rig that has the handle directly in line vertically with the entire rig's center of gravity. If the handle is off-set from the vertical CG there is a constant torque on your wrist that gets tiring rather quickly.

How long do you need to shoot in one cut?
see this start from 1:33, 3m20s long cut

MiniCAM is work very well.
operator is Skyler.
