PCMCIA adopter for CF type

i was dreaming & got one wauge idea...Pls correct me if going wrong somewhere

I use a Pcimcia Adopter for reading a CF cards on laptop. Now that we have a 32Gb type CF cards 40mbps rated r/w speeds. can i use this adopter & put a 32BG CF card & then try to use it in HPX500 camcorder... any takes !!!

won't work =/ there's a reason why P2 Cards are P2 Cards and they cost as much as they do, they're not just any ordinary pcmcia cards
 
i also know P2 cards are P2 cards & are expensive but whats the reason... why cant i use a ordinary Cf to pcimcia adopter ... pls reply with some science in it. Thx

Hasnt any body tried it ever ... just a curious thought....
 
P2 cards arn't just "dumb" flash memory. They are an entire RAID driver & associated (flash) memory to enable the speed and reliablity required to meet the standards of DVCPRO/50/HD.
Flash memory just needs power & data (& a little bit of control)
P2 needs system resources like system memory alocations, in addition to power & data. Mutch more complex.
